Amanda is a self-proclaimed West Virginia girl through and through. She was born in Charleston and grew up on Campbells Creek, graduating from DuPont High School. Amanda attended Marshall University and completed her bachelor’s in nursing.
After graduation, Amanda began working as a registered nurse, and married Tony, whom she met while at Marshall.

Amanda currently works in the operating room of the Huntington VAMC. She has found a lot of satisfaction in caring for our veterans. As a whole, she feels that they are the most grateful and humble people she's ever taken care of. Amanda considers it a privilege to give back to the men and women who have served our country.
Amanda and Tony have two boys, Caleb and Blake, and their best girl (dog), Lacey.
In her own words...
Why are you involved in MMTA?
I believe in what MMTA is building in my own backyard. The trails, the people, and community. I know that investing in the future is worth investing in. MMTA is doing just that - meeting people where they are and inviting them to find themselves on their own journey, and giving our families a place to connect, our friends a place to find fellowship
with each other, and our community a place to grow.
If you could only pick one activity on the trails, what would it be?
I’m not sure I can pick just one. I have hiked and biked many miles on the trails with my family, and also in Scouting with Troop 236. The outdoors is not only a wilderness to find yourself in, but a place to let it all go, regroup, and recharge. No better place to do that than Meeks Mountain Trails in 25526!
What is something no-one else knows about you?
When I’m at a football game – I LOVE to watch the halftime show – and wait til the third quarter to get refreshments. Once a band kid, always a band kid.
