The Details
When: Saturday, September 9, 2023, starting at 6:00 am with a midnight cutoff.
Where: Meeks Mountain Trails, Hurricane, WV. The race command center, crew pit, and team hangout will be in the back of the bowl at the shelter. The race is 100% single-track mountain running on 10.3-mile loops. Solo runners will see their crew between each of the 6 laps.
Who: For the heartiest of runners only. Run the 100k solo or as a three-person team doing 20+ miles each. Crew, family, and spectators are welcome to hang out and support their runners. There's a playground nearby and loads of open trails for hiking, biking, running and exploring.
Pacers: For solo runners, pacers are permitted for the last two loops.
Swag: All runners receive a zip-up sweatshirt jacket with male and female sizes available, finisher's award, and a tote with swag from sponsors. All 100k solo finishers within the 18-hour time limit will receive a Hurricane 100k belt buckle.
Awards
Overall awards: $2000 for 1st place male and female, $1000 for second place male and female, and $500 for third place male and female. Top coed, female, and male relay teams also get $1000 to split between the three runners.
Age group awards: The top 3 female and male finishers in the following age groups will receive hand-crafted awards: 29 and under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and over.
Trail Sister Approved
We are a Trail Sisters approved race and offer an equal opportunity for female runners with female-specific swag, equal podium spots and prize money, menstrual products at aid stations, and equal space at the starting line.
Hundred K Relay
The relay race is open to teams of three: an all-male team, an all-female team, and a coed team. There is a $1000 prize for the top team in each category. Every team will be issued one chip. The chip must cross the finish line 6 times, and the handoff must take place at the finish/start line-not mid-trail. Teams will determine the order of runners and laps. The race headquarter is perfect for teams and crews to relax and hang out while their teammates run. When registering, the team captain will register and pay for the entire team.

Pricing
Registration for the 100k is $110 between December 15 and January 30th, $130 from January 31st until May 31st, and $150 from July 15th to September 1st.
Registration per team for the relay is $85 per runner until January 30th, $100 from January 31st until May 31st, and $110 until September 1st. Each individual team member completes their own registration.
Registration is limited to 150 runners.
Course
This is all singe tract trail and there are approximately 1300 feet of climbing per loop for a total of 7,800 feet for the 100k. There are no long hills but there are plenty of small hills.
The mid course aid station will be available twice during the 10.3 mile loop. The other aid station is at the beginning /end of each loop which is the low spot of the course. It's also the crew and relay area.

King guest rooms are just $99 and Double Queen/Kings are just $105.
