Thor Meeks is a native of Hurricane, WV and serves as a board member of Meeks Mountain Trail Alliance as well as works on future development for the property.

Thor and his family generously provided the property to began this project in November 2018 with a mission to build and sustain a network of trails for the health and well-being of the people and create additional opportunities for economic growth.

Thor has been in real estate development for over 14 years. He has the opportunity to do what he loves - providing people with essential assets to grow, like, a shelter over their head, a place to grow a business, or bring something to the community that provides growth and prosperity for everyone around it.

When he's not working, Thor enjoys golfing, going to the lake, and spending time with family. He is married to Leah and they have a daughter, Colette and family dog, Cope.

Why are you involved in MMTA?

First and foremost, I believe in the process of what MMTA brings to the people of our community. The vision that has been laid out for the future is something that is generational and not something I want to miss out on. Providing the property to bring that vision to life is the least I can do.

If you could only pick one activity on the trails, what would it be?

I have always been into hiking, but since being introduced to biking, it has taken the top spot for me when I am alone on the trails. I still love hiking with my wife and daughter as well as hosting team building hikes on the trails.
